Sacramento Campaign season is almost over and we will soon all be set free from the constant bombardment of political ads. And as we all know, the closer to the election, the uglier and more controversial the political ads become. However, the most controversial of all political ads is one that you may not even be aware of. It starts with the trusting face of Actor Andy Griffith sitting in a relaxed easy chair. He then begins to explain very slowly how his fellow senior citizens need to be aware of fighting fraud when it comes to their Medicare. PJI’s Challenge to Health Care Law Moves Forward!

San Diego As many of you know, Pacific Justice Institute, an established legal defender of family and faith on the west coast, was the first to file a federal lawsuit in California challenging the new massive Health Care Law as unconstitutional. This lead case in the 9th Circuit has already overcome at least one attempt to dismiss it. This positive momentum in our litigation was furthered even more when we heard that a federal judge in Virginia recently gave the green light to a similar lawsuit by Virginia’s attorney’s general against the same massive federal health care legislation. 08/19/2010 While we all are waiting for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to hear the Proposition 8 case in early December, many proponents of traditional marriage are wondering what can be done in the meantime to further the chances of reversing federal District Judge Walkers’ pro-homosexual marriage ruling against it. Why Churches Don't Have to be WimpsWhat's the greatest hurdle today for churches wishing to build or expand? This question was asked at a pastors conference and their near unanimous answer was surprising. No, it was not lack of members or lack of funds. Instead, it was land use restrictions by uncooperative local governments that proved to be the greatest hurdle to church growth today. However, as a church in DePere, Wisconsin learned, new churches no longer have to be unreasonably stopped by local governments. Islam Takes Over the Middle School CurriculumA class of 7th graders begins the class with their teacher taking attendance: "Ali Muhammad?" "Here." "Abdul Muhammad Ishmael?" "Here."
Then the class gets on its knees and the students lower their heads to the floor. Some students are even given extra credit for memorizing verses from the Quran. PJI Files Supreme Court Brief for Church RightsWashington, D.C. - Pacific Justice Institute has filed an amicus curiae brief with the United States Supreme Court in the First Assembly of God of Ventura et al. v. City of San Buenaventura case at the request of the lead counsel for the church. Why This Election Is No Ordinary Election

Sacramento, CA Many of you are already motivated to vote in the upcoming November election. But what if I were to tell you that this election also virtually amounts to a binding directive to the United States Supreme Court on the issues of partial birth abortion, internet pornography, keeping God in the Pledge of Allegiance, and homosexual marriage in all 50 states? Suddenly what seemed like just another election takes on earth-shattering dimensions destined to impact generations to come and our nations existence as we know it. Parents' Rights To Discipline In CaliforniaThe law has long recognized and respected the rights and duties of parents in the raising of children. The Supreme Court has been consistent in recognizing the importance of respecting Parents authority in the raising of their children. Ginsberg v. New York, 390 U.S. 629, 639 (1968). Furthermore, the United States Supreme Court has stated, "It is cardinal with us that the custody, care and nurture of the child reside first with the parents, whose primary function and freedom include preparation for obligations the state can neither supply nor hinder." Prince v. Massachusetts, 321 U.S. The Truth About the School Voucher InitiativeYour son comes home from school and blurts out, "Mom, guess what? My teacher Mr. Franks has become a woman?!" You then call the school to find out that not only is it true, but you are also prevented from moving your son to another teacher's class. Then you put your child in a private "Christian" school only to find the same hideous scenario there as well. Unthinkable? Not if you live in California. |
